CALL FOR STUDENT DEMOS AT IEEE NOMS 2012
$500 Cash Award for Best Student Demo!
The NOMS 2012 technical program will include a Student Demo Contest in Network Operations and Service Management. The goal of the program is to give students and recent graduates in the area of Network and Service management the opportunity to present their research work through software or hardware demonstrations.
PRESENTATION FORMATS
Each accepted demo will have a 12-minute presentation window. The student can first use a few (e.g. 1-3) slides to briefly introduce the background, objectives, and/or methodologies of the project, followed by an on-site demonstration of the operations and functionalities of the software or hardware products derived from the research project. Two minutes will be reserved for questions and the answers.
AWARDS
The demos will be evaluated by a committee of experts in the fields. The assessment criteria include the relevance of the work to Network Operations and Service Management, the novelty and contribution of the research work, the quality and functionality of the software/hardware products, and the potential of the results for future engineering practice. The best demo will receive a $500 award.
